Thanks Chris..but what you forgot to mention was that she qualified last for that race. We just couldn't get it together with the KPP..and then Chris shared his setup with us,,,and we were right there on times...actually 3rd fast for KPP Heavy, and in Yamaha light on Saturday before we wrecked.
It was really nice to see Austin take pole in the KPP Light class..I think it took the Arrow guys by surprise. ![]() |

Chris,
Thanks for the update. I know Emerson won at least 3 GLSS championships, by my calculation he ended up with the 4th with Cadet by 32 points. Great to see Austin and Olivia doing good. Gary |

I thought I would post an update on the final Great Lake Sprint Series event here for us Merlin Nations folk in the lower midwest.
Olivia Horn got a podium finish in Komet Heavy. She hung in there after getting injured on Saturday in a Yamaha crash to finish third. Emerson Reed picked up wins across the board on Saturday and Sunday. I don't have the exact data but I think he won 4 of the 5 classes. That would be Yamaha light and heavy, KPP Sportsman and I think two Cadet classes. Maybe Tim can be more precise there. I know he qualified well also. Austin Schoonmaker qualified 2nd and 3rd and finished forth in both Yamaha classes always behind Beasley. Austin unseated the mighty Beasley to pick up the pole in KPP light and went on to finish third in the final. Furthermore,I am pretty sure Emerson picked up a couple of points championships unofficially, once more I defer to TIm. Shinya did well at New Castle at the KRA in Tag. The KRA usually gets a large kart count and often draws more karts than a regional. I know in Jrs. we get as many as thirty karts some weekends for Yamaha. We are fighting hard down here on the Southern Front. I think there were only 4 Merlin's in the GLSS field in the land of Arrow, so hats off to the green and orange team. |
