November 07 2007 - Cody Humphreys Joins Merlin USA
As the 2008 season rapidly approaches, multi-time Grand National and past National Champion Cody Humphreys is already preparing for the new season. With the Junior Sportsman categories behind him, Humphreys will now be behind the wheel of a Merlin MR29 chassis for his advancement into the Junior categories for 2008. Competing in the WKA Manufacturer’s Cup this coming season, Cody will be running in the Yamaha Junior Can and HPV Junior classes. Both classes will see action each day of the race weekend as he will be running in both the Lite and Heavy divisions.
Pre-season testing highlighted Humphreys’ abilities both behind the wheel and in providing feedback, as well as the quality and potential of the Merlin chassis. Coming up to speed very quickly was a key factor in the decision process.
“During testing, the chassis responded well to even the smallest change we made. It was terrific and I am looking forward to working with Jamie and all of the Merlin group in 2008”, commented Cody.
Last season saw several top qualifying results and podium finishes with TJ Koyen and Tommy Andersen piloting the Merlin MR29. “The end of last season was a real turning point for the Merlin junior program with Tommy and TJ running so well. I am excited to have Cody move up and run on the Merlin equipment,” commented Jamie Sieracki of Dream Works Karting Supply, the importer for the Merlin Chassis line. “His feedback is very accurate and I know his adjustment time will be minimal to the weight, horsepower and tire change. I have all the confidence that he will continue to be a top contender in the Junior categories for 2008.
