November 11 2011 - Franklin Motorsports/Merlin Racing Karts - SKUSA SuperNationals XV Preview

Team FMS, the official race program for Franklin Motorsports and Merlin Racing Karts, is prepared for victory in three categories at SuperNationals XV. Focused intently on the TaG classes, FMS Engines have scored victories throughout the 2011 season. The dedicated FMS staff and intensely focused drivers are expecting nothing less than the top of the podium at this year’s SKUSA crown jewel.

TaG Senior
Perennially one of the headline categories at the SuperNats, the FMS TaG Senior driver roster is full of headline drivers. TJ Koyen is fresh off a WKA Grand National win, his second Manufacturer’s Cup win of the year. Mike Politis, 2010 WKA National Champion, is expected to challenge for the win as well. Making his return to karting, Junior standout Shawn Sharkey has impressed in pre-event testing. Luca Forgeois caps off the lineup, making his first start since a successful 2010 campaign, his first with FMS / Merlin.

TaG Cadet
Another powerful lineup will be fielded by FMS in TaG Cadet. Two drivers returning after showing great speed last year will be Emerson Reed and Flinn Lazier. Emerson ran at the front all season in WKA competition, scoring a Manufacturer’s Cup win and dominating his regional series. He will look to improve on his top ten finish from last November. Flinn has been competitive in the class throughout the 2011 season, sitting third in ProTour points. Last years pole sitter returns to tackle unfinished business following a first corner crash. Another WKA front runner, Kaleb Allison will make his SuperNats debut looking for a strong finish.

TaG Masters
Recognized as one of the top TaG Masters drivers east of the Mississippi, Brian McEvoy will make his second SuperNats start. A respectable 8th place in 2010, McEvoy battled through changing weather conditions throughout his heats and final, making up an impressive 12 positions from qualifying. Brian will hit the ground running this year, and expects to be at the front.

Team FMS Senior / Masters drivers will utilize Merlin LM30 chassis and FMS prepped MY09 Parilla Leopard engines. The Cadet drivers will showcase the Merlin Cadet chassis and FMS built MiniRok engines. FMS also chooses Tillett Racing Seats for their unmatched quality and performance as well as AIM/My-Chron data systems.
